Melody Bromma, (formerly Melody Swink) a critically acclaimed Chicago jazz recording artist and writer has now turned her prodigious talents to the theatrical stage. Creating a quirky comedy based on the lives of seven dynamic and courageous women and a young girl… each with her own unique impressions of pop media representation, body consciousness, even bra size and the triumphant stories of breast cancer survivors. Melody’s collection of monologues is a powerful and poignant look at female life in a youth-weight-cleavage-conscious culture!
Melody’s career began with penning every word on her passionate debut CD, entitled “Travel me". Her provocative life experiences immerse the listener in her world of lost love, desire and most inspiring; her songs of rebirth and self-reliance. Her follow-up jazz/pop release “Today is Someday” was crafted with master music producer, Vince Lawrence, and features stellar performances by 3 Time Grammy Award Winner, Ramsey Lewis. This recording broadened her creative realm to include 2 CD’s of Jazz and Dance tracks in a groundbreaking photo montage art book, hailed as a “Grammy Award contender” by Urban Network Magazine and Art Directed by Melody Bromma.
She reveals, “I don’t see creative borders or boundaries - only frontiers, and I keep walking!”
Melody Bromma has appeared on MTV Radio Network, Voice of America, NPR, WTTW, WGN, Entertainment Connection, and features in Urban Network Magazine, The Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago Social Magazine, Today’s Chicago Woman, The Michigan Front Page, The Skyline Newspapers, and more.
Melody lives in Marin County, California and spends her time exploring our world, writing poetry, books, plays, music and is an accomplished artist, photographer and creator of perfumes... and whatever else distracts her.
